FUN RUN FOR CHARITY: MESSAGE FROM NEPAL

2016-09-20

This is a message from the Director of the Street Child in Nepal, Mr. Ramya:

Dear VIS,

The funds you have so generously raised have supported the construction of three semi-permanent school structures and two water, sanitation and hygiene facilities at Sunsari Primary School in Khiji Chandeshwori, Okhaldhunga. A school structure costs approximately 5000 GBP or 5750 euros, and a WASH structure costs approximately 1000 euros. Thus, your contribution has covered the bulk of the funds for construction at this school.
Each semi-permanent structure comprises two classrooms, and each water, sanitation and hygiene facility comprises two toilets, a water tank, and drinking water and hand washing taps. As mentioned in the report, the funds have enabled children to continue their education without disruption and mitigated risk of dropout, and the six classrooms will support up to 240 and 6 teachers each year, and ensure access to education for hundreds of earthquake affected children in the years to come.

The Street Child of Nepal team, SAHAS and Sunsari Primary School are very grateful for your support and we hope the Fun Run on Thursday goes well!

Warm Regards,

Ramya
